Take that Feather….

January 13th, 2008 by admin

While I don’t blame anyone but the Cleveland Browns for not making the playoffs this year, I decided the last week of the season, I would absolutely be rooting against the Colts this year.

If you are a pro football fan, you may recall the talk in week 17 about the Titans needing to lose to the Colts in order for the Browns to make the playoffs. To summarize, most of the Colt’s starting lineup sat on the sidelines for most of the game and, in my opinion, Tony Dungy all but gave the game to the Titans. There have even been accusations of collusion between the two teams. After the game, Tony Dungy was quoted as saying “I have to congratulate the Titans and I think it is a feather in the cap of our division to get three teams in the playoffs,”

Well, what happens when you give your team two weeks of rest heading into the playoffs Tony? I think you know now. YOU LOSE! As a matter of fact, the whole AFC South lost their first or second game of the playoffs! I think I can speak for all bitter Cleveland Browns fans and say take that feather out of your cap and stick it Tony!

Not so Happy Loss

    That’s right!

On the bright side, Dungy’s team will now be extremely well-rested for September.

The Browns are playing the Colts next year and you know it’s going to get ugly! GO BROWNS!

yeah, I just read your blog, then went to check my hotmail, which of course then spits me out to msn.com. AND THE COLTS LOST. Let’s see…the colts is the team with the ever-obnoxious payton manning right? if so, i say praise God and good riddance.

    Preach on, Brother Lon!

Don’t forget the Browns had a chance to control their own destiny going into week 17 but they choked in week 16. Shouldn’t blame another team for not “helping out” when the Browns could have and should have handled their own business in the first place. Just a classic case of the Clowns finding a way to blow it.

Gosh, Lon. It kind of sounds like you ARE blaming the Colts for the Browns missing out (once again) on the playoffs. But you’re right. Tony Dungy doesn’t know what he’s doing. I mean, I’d totally put my star QB/franchise player in when half of my offensive linemen are injured in a game that no matter what happened, they were still going to the playoffs. They should’ve been thinking about the Browns. How selfish!!! And it’s not like Tony Dungy knows what he’s doing and has ever won a Superbowl… oh wait! HE DID LAST YEAR. Here’s a quote from the Browns page on NFL.com: “If the Browns don’t make the playoffs, they’ll have only themselves to blame, since they control their own fate with three games left. Beating Buffalo (home), Cincinnati (away) and SF (home) isn’t asking too much.” Well, I guess it was! Bottom line, it’s not a good idea for a Browns fan to talk smack on another team, especially one like the Colts. You’d better start thinking of a good excuse for next year - why the Browns totally suck again in 2008 - right away!
